How long have you been married?  How did you two meet?

We met at college (NCSU) through some mutual friends.  We were friends for about a year first (even went on a few dates.. that weren't "real"), he was interested in another girl (shocker, I know), and finally we ended up together.  We started dating in November 2006 and got engaged February 2009.
The hubby and I got married in June 2010. 


Do you have any children?  Pets?

Nope, not yet.  Maybe one day we'll have a dog or some kids, but we are not in any hurry!


What do you teach?  How long have you been teaching?

I teach 7th grade language arts at a nearby middle school.  I am certified in language arts and social studies but I am on a 4-teacher team so I only have to teach language arts.  I am AIG (academically/intellectually gifted) certified so I usually teach at least 1 class of advanced language arts.  I started teaching the fall of 2008.


Why did you start Pink Birdie Boutique?

I love creating stuff.  I always have.  The summer I got married, I was home by myself while the hubby was at work and I needed something to do after I got moved in to our new home.  So, the Etsy shop was born!  I have really enjoyed being an entrepreneur and growing the business... I love hearing from people who love our products!

You do need to create an (free) account on Etsy to make a purchase.  You can then pay with a credit card or through PayPal.  If you are local, you can contact me about how to make a purchase at a craft show.  **Update: Unfortunately, Pink Birdie is closed now.  In order to be a responsible wife, teacher, friend, etc... I couldn't manage my time enough to be a small business owner too (it was too successful!).  The plan is to one day open back up so don't write us off just yet!


What program do you use to make collages?

Since Picnik closed down, I have tried several different programs/sites.  I now mainly use Google+ for my picture editing and Ribbet for my collages.  I realize I could probably use Ribbet for both, but I can't seem to download my pictures without my web browser shutting down.


Why did you start a blog?

Why not?  I love reading blogs.  I want my students to blog.  I always read how a blog can help your Etsy shop.  So... I figured I could do that.  So I am! :)
